As the Program Manager it is my role is to ensure we have the right staff to deliver high quality services. I strive to ensure that service delivery is seamless and compassionate. I am not only responsible for managing the Instructor Therapists, but also our placement students and dedicated volunteers. Additionally as part of my clinical role I coordinate the clinical team to ensure that program and curriculum development is current, relevant and effective.
Family Services Coordinator:
Laura Dignard, MADS, BCBA is a Senior Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Program Manager at AlphaBee Centre. Laura has a Masters Degree in Applied Disability Studies with a Specialist in ABA from Brock University and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Laura has worked with individuals with Developmental Exceptionalities and Autism, utilizing the principles of ABA with a particular focus on Verbal Behaviour. Laura has extensive experience with the assessment, development, and implementation of behaviour reduction and skill building programs resulting in the development of functional skills and a better quality of life for her clients. Laura has presented at ABA and Special Education conferences. In addition, Laura has developed training workshops for parents, therapists, and community members.
My primary role as the family services coordinator is to be the first point of contact for families and other individuals looking for service. I am committed to ensuring our clients receive the most accurate and helpful information. I enjoy guiding families through the process of finding and setting up services and to ensure that the service being received is the right fit. My responsibilities include conducting intakes for all services, coordinating with scheduling and responding to parent questions and concerns.
Natalia Plejic BA, BST is the Family Services Coordinator and a Behaviour Consultant at AlphaBee Centre. She has over 15 years of experience working in the field of Autism and Special Education with both children and adults on the spectrum. Natalia completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Toronto, and is currently working towards her BCaBA. She has worked as an Instructor Therapist, Behaviour Consultant and as an RDI extender. She is committed to professional development, and has attended ABA workshops and Intensive Interaction seminars along with receiving training from some of the top consultants in the Canada, the UK and the US. She emphasizes communication and play in her programs, striving to provide a well rounded curriculum which not only enhances learning and behaviour management, but also familial and social interactions. Natalia endeavours to provide lifelong learning skills and independence for her clients.
Our IT’s have a university or college degree or diploma in psychology, behaviour science, or related field.
All IT’s receive ongoing training in the principles of ABA and effective teaching strategies. In addition, the IT’s attend regular clinical team meetings where they participate and lead discussions relating to ongoing professional development and client case reviews.
The Senior Therapists complete behavioural and curriculum assessments which are then used to develop individualized programming to meet the needs of the child. Our STs also provide ongoing evaluation and training for the Instructor Therapists.
Our STs have their Master's Degree (or are Masters Candidates) in a relevant field of study and have extensive IBI experience.
Nicola MacDonald, MADS, BCBA is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. She has completed her Masters Degree in Applied Disability Studies with a Specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Brock University. In addition, Nicola is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Nicola has worked with individuals with Autism for many years in a variety of settings including therapeutic, recreational, social, and educational. Through her vast work experience, education, and attendance to various workshops/conferences Nicola has acquired the knowledge to be an excellent clinician in the field.
Lisa Kota, MADS, BCBA is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. She has completed her Masters Degree in Applied Disability Studies with a Specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Brock University and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. She began her career in ABA as an Instructor Therapist implementing IBI with a Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) approach. Lisa joined AlphaBee with a desire to emphasize a Verbal Behaviour approach in utilizing the principals of ABA. Lisa has a special interest in parent training as well as the development of specialized learning materials to facilitate learning. She is passionate about increasing language development and reducing problem behaviours.
Shikha Rajput is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. After graduating from McMaster University with a BA in Psychology, Shikha obtained a graduate certificate in Autism and Behvaioural Science from Seneca College. Shikha has experience in behaviour modification within various settings and has worked closely with a broad range of youth in group homes and within the Peel School Board. Over the past few years, her core practice is with residential and centre based IBI programming. Shikha is currently working towards her BCaBA and taking Master's level courses in Applied Behaviour Analysis through St. Cloud State. She is passionate about fostering a positive environment for learning while working closely with clients and their families within the broader community to help reduce behaviours and help form a productive, sustainable and manageable environment.
Mandy Cooke, MADS, BCBA, is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. She has completed a Masters Degree in Applied Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Brock University and is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Mandy has also obtained a certification of completion in Interdisciplinary Studies in Global Health and Disability at Queen’s University’s international study centre in England, UK. Mandy has worked with children, youth, and adults with various developmental disabilities in a wide range of capacities, including therapeutic and recreational settings. Mandy’s special interests in professional development include mediator training, verbal behaviour, and ethics.
Bradey Kankowski, BA, BST, is a Senior Therapist at Alphabee Center. After graduating from York University with a Bachelor in Psychology and Sociology, Bradey obtained a graduate certificicate in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from Mohawk College. She is currently working towards her BCaBA and she continues her professional development through attending conferences. Bradey has worked with children and youth with Autism for many years in both therapeutic and recreational settings. Bradey's special interests in professional development include verbal behaviour and play based therapies, such as the Early Start Denver Model for early learners. Bradey has also worked extensively with more advanced learners with a focus on social skills and school readiness.
Azrum Ghouse, MSc, is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. She has completed her Honours Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto, a post-graduate diploma in Autism and Behavioural Science from Algonquin College, and has recently earned a Masters in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Capella University. She is currently working towards her BCBA certification. Azrum has implemented IBI programs using Discrete Trial Teaching, Verbal Behaviour, and Precision Teaching techniques. Azrum has experience in creating and implementing behaviour intervention plans along with training parents and staff on skill acquisition and behaviour reduction. Azrum’s professional yet friendly approach allows her to build a great rapport with her clients, and their families.
Crystal Ferrier, BA, BST is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre. After graduating from York University with a BA in Sociology, Crystal obtained a graduate certificate in Autism and Behavioural Science from Seneca College. Crystal has experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Intensive Behavioural Intervention across various settings and including a broad range of youth. She has taken the first steps towards attaining her BCaBA. Crystal is especially known for her fun and creative approach to teaching. She finds passion in assisting in the functional development of each unique child. Crystal’s career motto is “If they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn” -Lovaas
Nona Davis, MT is a Senior Therapist at AlphaBee Centre and is currently working towards her BCBA certification. She started with the company as an Instructor Therapist and has accumulated over 9 years of experience supporting children with autism through the use of various strategies including gestures and singing. She is very passionate about increasing communication skills and helping each individual develop the necessary techniques needed to successfully reach their fullest potential.
The clinical supervisor is responsible for the direction of all programming, and for providing ongoing training and evaluation for Senior Therapists.
The clinical supervisor has a PhD and is a registered psychologist or is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Pam Lawrynowycz is a Clinical Supervisor at AlphaBee Centre. Pam has a Master of Arts in Psychology. She is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, with extensive traning in ABA & Verbal Behaviour, and is certified in the Early Start Denver Model. Pam has worked within the Intensive Behavioral Intervention program with children with Autism for over 10 years. Pam has extensive experience providing behaviour and curriculum assessments, staff/parent training, as well as consultation and developing behaviour programs. She believes all children have the potential to develop skills beyond their current level, with a particular focus on increasing language skills. Pam is a motivated professional dedicated to bettering the lives of children with special needs.
Dr. Eric Davis is the Clinical Psychologist who oversees our Intensive Behavioural Interventino (IBI) program for clients receiving Direct Funding from one of the regional providers.
Dunya Marijan-Winterson is the founder and CEO of AlphaBee and our sister company wm+a. For over 17 years she has been committed to providing high quality services and supports to individuals with special needs of various exceptionalities. Through the creation of AlphaBee and over the last 10 years she put together a strong and caring clinically advanced team who has enabled thousands of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other needs to learn and make progress.
