Our 2023 ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event was a huge success! Our aim was to provide gifts from Santa to 400 children, along with turkey vouchers for the families and caregivers supported by Daily Bread Food Bank, Ernestine’s Women Shelter, and various other community organizations. We’re excited to share that we surpassed our goal by gifting toys to 412 children! Each child and their family received delicious pancakes prepared by a team of elves, along with a holiday gift voucher for the caregivers/families.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated volunteers who participated to this year’s event. Witnessing the joy on the children’s faces as they visited Santa (aka Dunya, CEO) and interacted with the helpful elves was truly touching. We are immensely grateful for the support of our wm+a and AlphaBee teams and volunteers, without whom this event would not have been possible.
SEET (Special Events & Engagement Team) raised $9,705 through various fundraising initiatives, including an Online Auction, Comedy Night, Paint Night, Raffle Baskets, and more, in addition to donations from our community partners. wm+a & AlphaBee generously matched all funds, resulting in a total of $19,410!
We would also like to express our gratitude to Two Sisters Vineyards, RZCD Law Firm, The Orange Room by Puffin Gear, Ase Juicery & Café, Starbucks, Game Stop, New Street Inc., Coffee Galore, Mitchell Marner-Mcphil Communications, Amrit Dhaliwal Realtor, Easyhome and many others for their support through the online auction. Your contributions have been invaluable in ensuring the on-going success of our two main initiatives – Back-to-School Backpack & Breakfast with Santa.
As we reflect on the achievements by our SEET volunteers, we are excited about the prospect of garnering additional support for future initiatives.
