In short

A first-then board shows your child what they need to do first and what will happen next. Put a picture or word in each box, like “First shoes, then outside.”

One page, ready to print.

Download the first-then board (PDF)

How do I use it?

  1. Put the activity that comes first in the First box, like “shoes on”.
  2. Put something your child is looking forward to in the Then box, like “go outside”.
  3. Point to each box as you say it: “First shoes, then outside.”
  4. When the first part is done, point to Then and follow through straight away.
