What we covered
Nona’s session focused on everyday routines a child already knows and enjoys. Here is what the team worked through together.
Songs and movement as a way to connect. Person engagement routines are familiar songs and movement games where the shared moment with an adult is the activity. No toys are needed. Nona showed how these routines can build shared attention and social communication.
Building in chances to communicate. The team looked at JASPER core strategies and how they fit within familiar songs. Pausing, waiting and leaving space in a well-known song gives a child a reason to take part. We also looked at how ABA principles support engagement and learning in these moments.
Coaching and practice. Clinical Supervisors discussed practical ways to coach Instructor Therapists in these strategies during sessions, and how to troubleshoot common challenges. The team then watched session videos together and reflected on what worked.

Why it matters for families
Learning is part of our work, too. We invest in skilled clinicians, collaborate with the people who matter in each client’s life, and continue learning so our practice evolves alongside the field. Sessions like this mean the strategies your child’s team uses are shared, practiced and checked across our centres.
